  1. hi, i did all of these steps and then print them wirelessly with my Epson SC P800 on different high-quality papers. I exported high res. photos to my ipad and then i sent to my printer. BUT the result is bad! very dull colours and not calibrate colours to my eyes. What did i miss here? (1) Not downloading paper profile to my Lightroom? (2) Sending to print from my iPad Pro? (because first, i should export an image from lightroom mobile to ipad and then send to print from ipad through IOS). (3) not calibrating my display for print? (4) trusting Apple display (and i need to buy Benq special monitor)? or els? please advise.

  2. Incredibile..! Well done. I would very much like to take a printing course explained by you because I'm trying to get experience with my Canon Pro 1000. Greetings from Italy

  3. Hello, great video ! Working on a calendar printing project for the first time and it is a bit of a nightmare ^^. I'm trying to soft proof the color profile provided by printing company (simply told us they work with Fogra 39, so i downloaded an ICC file for that) but lightroom doesn't show it when I follow the steps you showed here… The profile is installed on my windows 10, but no way to preview it on lightroom. From what i found online; seems lightroom cannot preview CMYK color profiles, but then what is the point, as most printing profiles are CMYK… So confused, an ideas that could help ? thx !

  4. Fantastic information! Thank you for sharing. Could you please give a link to the plastic protective wallets if it's possible? Thank you!

  5. Hi, Tomas !!
    Thaaaaaaank you !!
Could you please recommend the plastic protective wallet and the tube where you mail your artworks ? 🙂

  6. I'm still stuck on getting a photo worthy of printing. Your attention to detail during the printing process is remarkable.

  7. I know this is a very old video, but I just started printing my work and find this channel/video pretty amazing and helpful and I was wondering if you could provide some information of where you get your boxes for packaging and the name of the cutter, I tried the link you provided but seems like is not available anymore. Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

  8. Hi Thomas, I noticed you mentioned high gloss paper and I was wondering if that really works for you. My experience has been that the print will only be as glossy as the ink that covers it. Any thoughts?

  9. This video has changed my photography life. I'm copying the thank you note idea! Thank you for sharing!

  10. Hi Thomas, clicked on the link to the signing pens you use, but it doesn't work. Could you repost another link to somewhere else for these pens. They seem ideal.

  11. I also use a Spyder calibrator. It does a good job. However, I've been using Canson and Hahnemuhle papers, and I've been testing some Red River papers. Hahnemuhle has my favorite papers so far. Oh, I do use a Canon printer, and I'm planning to get a larger one. * UPDATE: The Red River paper has a really nice finish and look, but it doesn't have the reslution for tone holdout in dark grays to black, and the fine high key light grays to white. So, it's Hahnemuhle and Canson for me. I want to try Canson's Baryta Prestige for black and white.

  12. 14:03 – that's Velum paper and not really "Tracking Paper". BTW – you might want to experiment with Reich Velum paper for some of your printing, it can really do wonders with the right image.

  13. Thank you so much, Thomas! I'm not quite there with my photography yet, but I love looking ahead to my potential. Today, I struggled greatly trying to print out a photo that matched the one I see on my screen. One photo turned out pretty good considering my HP printer isn't that expensive. However, the second one I couldn't get any of the colors right at all! So frustrating. But you showed us how you also have to try many times to get images right and one you couldn't get. The "orange" one. I really appreciated your honesty and sincerity. Again, many thanks! PS I'm going to break down and by the Canon one level down from what you have.

  14. It's funny because I'm on my second year of photography. This last year or so has been just a plethora of learning. Not only cameras and composition. I learned everything from quality of lenses to dynamic range, also the use of tools like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and other softwares. It was a lot to take in and I'm still working on mastering certain things like Photoshop and composites… but I must say recently getting into printing images from my Canon Pro 100 has not only taught me a whole new realm. But it is actually made me a better photographer. I look at composition kind of in a whole new light now. I found myself taking less pictures and focusing on getting better ones

  15. This video was so useful Tom. I'm just about to do my first print and wanted to find out about the process and also extras I could include to make it as professional as possible so you've ticked all the boxes! Excited to ship my first print now.

  16. Great informative video @Thomas Heaton. Is it a secret how much one A3 print cost you? With paper, print, package and post costs.

  17. Hi, Like your video, very informative, and the work. I went to your site, click on a photo in your Gallery, but there wasn't a way to add to the basket. Suggestion, you should add a price list, a better educational method of purchasing a print, and all the variables of buying a print, shipping, sizes, paper, cost, the print number, etc. If that is on the site it is not eassily accessible.

  18. great information

but I wonder where I can purchase the boxes you use for shipping your prints
can't seem to find anything online

    kind regards

  19. I wish he would answer about the presentation boxes, envelope, CoA template and/or how to make it lol

  20. great video. Where and bow you sell your prints. I am an amature photographer I would like to start selling. But I dont know where to start…

  21. Thanks a few years later for this helpful video. Your thoughts about test prints reminded me of the hours I spent in the darkroom making small changes to dodging and burning a print.
