I need your help. Why does the print size width and height change and get smaller when I make both y and z resolution 300??? I set the width 3.5 and height 2. And I change the X resolution to 300 and then when I change the Y resolution to 300 both the width and the height change and become smaller. Why is this happening?

Great training video. Many other training videos are too slow or too fast. They also have an into. They waste your time by telling you how wonderful Gimp is. Then they go very fast because they are showing off their skills. (primary) They are not really trying to teach. (secondary)

I am just learning GIMP and Inkscape, after having used CorelDraw's vector and raster programs quite extensively a few years ago.
Given what you said in this video that resizing an image a lot in GIMP decreases quality, would it not be better to do text and illustration designs for print (e.g., business cards and brochures) in a vector based program, such as Illustrator, or Draw or Inkscape, and use GIMP, Photoshop, Photopaint and so on to edit photos?
Is there a way to work in the cmyk color space?
i found there are templates for bussinesscards or at least the size for bussinesscards like vista prints etc. its under create new image under the section templates. i havent seen anybody here mentioning this
