i basically did similar open air case by removing all the plastic on my case install more fan and just run it barebone case. I remove the top the faceplate the side panel all the hdd empty shell. I have the 3d printer but it sit in a box since moving.

If you're going dual rad, wouldn't it make sense to go GPU-Rad-CPU-rad rather than GPU-CPU-Rad-Rad ?

Why? Because then we could print really cool stuff like a fully functional engine, transmission, etc. and build full size machines very capable machines out of printed stuff.

Very bad idea. There is a reason that cases are out of metal: The metal case acts as EMF shielding. In some countries this could be even illegal (usually nobody wont care for it, but when your neighbour or an amateur radio user complains at the right departiment that the spectrum is full with "trash"), it get really expensive for using such a non-functional case.

For the spacers: screw the spacers on sans the motherboard just to center the spacers, tack the spacers in place with a drop of super glue or just touch it with your soldering iron to hold it in place. remove your screws, then mount the mobo! 😀
